Get to know a Serve Team

In order for Lake Forest Church to be a welcoming church where everyone can worship, we all pitch in! You don’t have to be a Ministry Partner (member) to be on a serve team; everyone has gifts to contribute!


Here’s a list of different teams that make Lake Forest Church home for everyone.

  • Guest Experience + Sunday Operations

    Greeters – Offer a welcoming smile to people as they arrive for church.

    Ushers – Help prepare our space for worship, then guide people to their seats. Communion serving and offering collection are also often involved.

    Coffee Team– Serve up coffee and lemonade with a smile! No barista experience required.
    Info Table – Help new guests learn about our church, get connected, and find answers to their questions.

    Parking – Help direct traffic flow and keep everyone safe in the parking lot. (Bonus: a really cool yellow vest!)

    Medical Team – Respond to medical needs during services and events.

    Security Team – Keep the guests of Lake Forest Church safe and secure.

  • Kids (Babies - 5th Grade)

    Admin Support – Help us behind the scenes and throughout the week to prepare space for kids on Sunday.

    Adventure Camp & The Hunt Teams– Make the best week of summer vacation and the best easter egg hunt EVER happen!

    Care Team – Support families through care and meals during difficult seasons.

    Greeters/Check-in – Welcome families, manage check-in, and help kids find their classrooms.

    Events – Coordinate the fun for all of our kids, or for our fourth and fifth graders beyond Sunday mornings!

    Curriculum – Prepare and organize the curriculum, tools, and craft supplies for our Sunday morning leaders.

    Decorating – Lend your creative talents to our Kidventure spaces, year round or for the holidays.

    Kid Jam – Provide leadership to our kid jam (worship) team.

    Small Group Leaders & Assistants (Guides) – Guide experiences for kids of all ages. Hold babies, play with toddlers, or teach and guide kids through crafts and lessons.

    Small Group Leader Coach – Provide support and leadership to our team of Guides (leaders).

  • Youth (6th - 12th Grade)

    Small Group Leaders (Sunday night) – Invest directly into the lives of students by building relationships and guiding small group conversation about important faith-based topics.

    Bible Study Leaders (Weeknight) – Invest directly into the lives of students by facilitating scripture-based study and discussion.

    Foundations Teachers– A seasonal, one-month long commitment to help teach the foundations of faith to youth each spring.

    Events Coordination & Support – Serve at youth events, through planning or hands on service, rather than at weekly gatherings.

    Event Chaperone – Assist the youth team in chaperoning special events/retreats/missions trips.

    Games – Help us make the fun happen!

    Greeting – Help make youth and parents feel welcome and safe by offering a warm smile and greeting.

  • Worship Music + Tech

    Band & Vocals – Share your musical gifts and glorify God as you lead others in worship.

    Audio Engineers – Run audio for our services, in person or online, so that people can hear God’s word clearly, and create great sound with our band.

    Camera Operators – Capture our band and communicators in action so that we can share our services online.

    Computer Graphics – Help lead worship and provide visual aide by running lyrics and displaying graphic slides during hosting and messages.

    Lighting Operators – Help create a worship environment that glorifies God and inspires our congregation.

    Producer – Direct the ‘flow’ of the Sunday morning gathering.

    Stage Hand – Lend a helping hand in the moving pieces of our services.

    Video Director & Switcher – Help us capture what happens on Sundays through creative camera shots and video direction.


  • Hospitality & Sacraments for Worship

    Baptism & Communion – Help us prepare for these important sacraments by setting up, gathering materials, and cleaning up. We need teams who can prepare communion, as well as those to serve it in our worship services.

    Green Room Meal Prep – Prepare breakfast for our teams who are first in, last out on Sunday mornings.

  • Communications + Media

    Hosting – Use your personality and gift to communicate by being a part of our team of hosts who deliver information, announcements, and vision during Sunday services.
    Lobby Experience – Help prepare and set up decorations and photo opportunities for special services, host and facilitate moving pieces/extra elements on unique Sundays (holidays, celebrations).

    Photography & Videography – Capture what happens at Lake Forest. We are a story-telling church who recognizes the value of our words, and you know what they say – a picture’s worth a thousand!

    Content Creators + Writers – Create engaging content so that more may see what’s happening in our church and feel welcome before they ever step foot on our campus.

  • Weekday Operations

    Maintenance – Help main Lake Forest’s facilities to a standard of excellence.

    Hospitality & Hosting – Help host events in our building.

  • Care

    Meals– share meals with those who are in need, and organize meal trains.

    Prayer – Receive and pray for the needs of our church community.

    Visitation – Provide in-person care through home and hospitals visits.

    Stewardship – Administratively support financial provisions as needed.
    Grief Support – Help maintain pathways of support for those walking through loss.
