    Baptism 101

Explore following Jesus into the waters of baptism through Baptism 101!

At Lake Forest, we celebrate baptism as a part of worship once a month. Before getting baptized, you must attend a Baptism 101 class. You may also want to consider attending our Welcome 101 class to learn more about our faith and Lake Forest Church, although Welcome 101 is not required. You do not have to be a Ministry Partner/Member to be baptized at Lake Forest Church. Read more about what we believe about baptism here.

    OUR NEXT BAPTISM 101 CLASS:

Sunday, October 19 at 12:15 pm

We'll gather at the front of the worship center (in front of the platform) after 11 am worship.

    Registration is required.

  • NEXT GEN TRAIL GUIDE
    New Parent Gathering

Having a baby is a life-changing adventure—and the preschool years are the very start of the parenting trail. Parents play the most important role in helping their children know God’s love from the very beginning.

Our New Parent Gathering is designed for parents of babies through PreK, to help you set out on the trail with a plan! Join us as we share tools for starting healthy faith habits early, talk about the vital role parents play as the primary spiritual influence in their child’s life, and explain what Lake Forest believes about baby baptism.

  • NEXT GEN TRAIL GUIDE
Getting Your Kids Ready for School

Getting ready for kindergarten can be daunting. Choosing a school is a big decision and we are here to help parents navigate this phase and teach kids how to take their faith with them, no matter which school option parents choose.

You’re invited to attend a panel discussion event to learn about school options from home school, hybrid, private, charter, and county schools. In addition to discussing pros and cons for all the options and helping you choose the trail, parents will learn how to support their child’s faith formation as they begin school.

    Childcare is available for $5.

Room In the Inn Interest Meeting

Roof Above believes homelessness is solvable; it is not an inevitable reality.

Room In The Inn is a Roof Above program that provides emergency winter shelter during the winter months.
Lake Forest will be hosting folks on the 1st and 3rd Saturday night from December - March.

More about Roof Above: Roof Above believes that a home is critical to provide safety, stability, and dignity in people’s lives. Each day, they serve 1,200 people in our community –half through their homeless services, and half are formerly homeless served through their housing programs. It’s not just about what they do but how they do it. The approach is personal; relationships drive the services of Roof Above and help to heal the trauma of homelessness. They strive to honor the profound worth of each life, and for our work to reflect that belief.

To learn more about Room In The Inn, join us for an interest meeting!

    • Sunday, November 16 between all worship services (back patio)
    • Wednesday, November 19 from 6-6:30 pm (barn door room)

    No registration is required.

Questions? Reach out to lfcw@lakeforest.org and we'd be happy to help!

  • CHURCH-WIDE
    Blue Christmas

Who is Blue Christmas for? Those who hurt. (So...everyone.)
We all experience loss and pain, and the invitation of Advent is to sit in the tension of what is and what is promised - to wait with faith for the healing only Jesus can bring.

Join us on Thursday, December 5th at 6 pm as we set aside a unique time of worship and reflection designed to help us experience the waiting of Advent, and to acknowledge the grief and loss that so many of us have experienced this year and in years’ past. As we move into a season marked by celebration and family gatherings, we will create space for honest mourning, reflection, and yearning for hope.

Come as you are, and invite especially those that you know who are hurting this year to join us for a “Blue Christmas” worship experience.
